The role
Are you experienced with street cleaning operations and equipment? CBCity currently have a number of opportunities available for experienced Street Cleaners to join our Waste and Cleansing Unit. You will be responsible for cleaning town centres, residential cleaning and litter picking as well as other tasks as directed by your Team Leader.

There are both permanent full-time and temporary 12-month opportunities available. In your cover letter, please ensure you disclose whether you are applying for a permanent or temporary opportunity.


Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure public areas used by vehicles and pedestrians remain free of debris, litter and other materials.
  • Operation of whipper-snippers, hand-blowers and other small plant equipment as required.
  • Undertake day to day operational requirements including but not limited to litter collection, weed control, removal of dumped rubbish and dead animals.
  • Undertake emergency response requests as required.

You will have

  • Current Class C drivers' licence.
  • Previous experience with street cleaning operations and equipment.
  • Experience using rear loaders, road brooms and side loaders is preferred but not essential.
  • Class HR/MR licence and traffic control tickets are desirable but not essential.


The salary range for this opportunity starts at $55,121 (Grade A, Step1) + AWCA2 + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
