Position:Street Cleaner
Location: All across Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Employment Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday) with overtime
Hours: 38 hours per week
Shift: Afternoon shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) for the next month, then Morning Shift (6am to 2pm)
Hourly Rate: $35 per hour
Job Description: As a Street Cleaner, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our city streets clean. Your duties will include:
- Litter Picking: Walking designated routes and collecting litter from side walks, parks, and public areas.
- Broom and Scoop: Using brooms and scoops to sweep debris and dirt from footpaths and roadways.
- Operating Blowers: Using blowers to clear leaves, dust, and other debris from sidewalks and kerbs.
- Bin Management: Moving and changing bins, ensuring they are placed in appropriate locations.
- Occasional Driving: Occasionally driving a council vehicle to transport equipment or move bins.
Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Valid HR Licence: You should hold a valid Heavy Rigid (HR) licence.
- Physical Fitness: Street cleaning can be physically demanding, so you should be fit and able to walk long distances.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for spotting litter and maintaining cleanliness.
- Team Player: You’ll work closely with other crew members, so teamwork is essential.
- Willingness to Learn: On-the-job training will be provided, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are crucial.
