The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with LOCAL NSW residential experience to join our diverse Residential Section in our Sydney office. Our Residential (dwellings) Section helps our clients with a range of design, documentation and detailing for single and double storey homes, and custom-built residences.
In this role, you will:
- Produce designs that meet client requirements using a CAD package;
- Ensure that all engineering designs adhere to Australian Standards and Structerre's design philosophy;
- Work with clients to understand their design requirements;
- Interpret architectural drawings for design considerations;
- Liaise with clients in-person, via phone and email;
- Liaise with colleagues and other departments as requested;
- Work under the guidance of more experienced/senior engineers

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a client-focused individual to hit the ground running who has Australian structural design experience in the residential/cottage sector.
Standout applicants must have previous local NSW experience in the Australian residential market, a 'can do' attitude and eye for detail in addition to demonstrating the following:
- A completed Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering from an institution recognised by Engineers Australia;
- 2-5 years experience within the residential construction engineering industry;
- Excellent understanding of Engineering Principles, Australian Building Codes and Australian Design Standards;
- A strong client focus;
- An ability to use technical engineering software;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Strong attention to detail.
