Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) Engineer

Hourly rate: $80 – $120 per hour (negotiable for an outstanding candidate)

Contract duration: Up to two years!

Hours of work: Full time, hours can be flexible

Location: Pork Kembla, NSW

Tecside is a specialist recruitment company seeking an Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) Engineer to work with our client who is a leader in Steel production industry.

The purpose of this position is to deliver Structural, Mechanical & Piping Engineering co-ordination and mechanical work for a major Project in Port Kembla.

The duties include:

• Participate in the hands on resolution of engineering issues
• Actively participate in HSE document reviews & workshops
• Develop and maintain a Design Management Plan
• Application and knowledge of Australian/International Standards related to Structural, Mechanical and Piping Systems
• Work within a team of experts to ensure engineering completion of an assigned package of work.

The successful candidate will have:

• Mechanical Engineering qualification
• 5+ years of experience managing the engineering aspects of capital projects in heavy industry
• Experience in the successful delivery of major capital project(s) as a project team member
• Knowledge of engineering packages
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage detail across broad project aspects and a variety of engineering disciplines.
