We are looking to engage experienced Structural & Mechanical Engineers to manage, communicate and complete the delivery of the FY24 / 25 Capital & Operational Portfolios for our team, based in Mackay QLD.
Key Responsibilities will include preliminary Stakeholder Engagement, Developing Project Documentation, Scope of Work Development, Project Tendering and Vendor Selection along with our customer’s requests.
You will need to be a self-motivated team player, determined to achieve, and expected to use your own initiative to deliver quality projects to the highest standard within a designated timeframe, on budget and to meet the outcomes required by our customer.

Skills/Experience Required:
Mechanical / Structural Engineering Degree.
RPEQ qualification would be preferential.
Ability to use your extensive knowledge and experience in Project Front End Loading.
Proven history in the delivery of multiple successful projects at any given time.
Attention to detail and excellent knowledge of Project Management, Compliance and Governance Practices.
Display a professional attitude with exceptional organisational and personable skills along with the proven ability to negotiate with management and team members alike.

We are currently seeking a contract Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and inclusive team where challenges are approached as opportunities to improve together.
Reporting to the Superintendent Shutdowns, you will be responsible for:
- Management of the design process including options analysis, stakeholder engagement, technical input, contractor management and procurement.
- Providing input into project plans and schedules and where required, supporting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments and project business cases.
- Engaging with and coordinating multiple stakeholders during the execution of the works including Operations, maintenance, EPC organisations and contractors.
- Critically reviewing construction plans, specifications and drawings and providing practical input into the development of these plans.
- Providing technical assistance and guidance for projects during all project lifecycle phases.
- Taking shared accountability for the performance of the team and promoting operational discipline throughout work execution.
- Ensuring quality of completed tasks, enhancing technical knowledge of other team members and promoting continuous professional development.
- Ensuring quality control of execution activities and that a safe, efficient, cost-effective system of work is in place.
- Carrying out preparation of plans, estimates, reports, forecasts and material take offs.
- Generation of minor repair Site instructions (pad welding, over plating, bolt changeout)
- Marking repairs on structure as required.
- Interpretation and assistance with applying standard repair details and limitations of applying the base rules supplied by 3rd Party Engineering Company.
- Support with QA verification both in field and document i.e. bolt torque, fitment, or alignment etc through ITR, ITC or ITP.
- Process confirmation following repair and prior to client acceptance i.e. confirm relevant testing has been completed as outlined in SWMS and ITP or OEM methodologies.
- Assistance with completing punch list’s following repairs.
- Provide assistance and support with emergent work identification and repair methods within agreed limits.
- Assistance with escalation to 3rd party engineering consultants where necessary.
