WHO YOU ARE
You are a current USYD Student with a passion for creating digital content. You will use your strong creative and video skills to create engaging and relatable content which personifies the USU and bring the student experience at USYD to life.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work both autonomously and with the wider team to develop, produce and edit content for use on primarily TikTok and Instagram Reels.
- Tell authentic stories from the student perspective.
- Use your knowledge of the social media and influencer space to be on the pulse of what’s next and trends within the social and digital world.
- Attend and cover campus events on IG stories and take part in photoshoots and video campaigns.
- Use your analytical knowledge to produce monthly reports and review the performance of content.
ESSENTIALLY YOU WILL HAVE
- Significant experience with TikTok as a user managing an account for yourself and/or another brand with an eye for innovation identifying and executing emerging trends on TikTok
- Creative, curious, and passionate about all things content from creating unique, engaging, and relatable content to a youth audience
- Culturally immersed and passionate about youth culture
- Comfortable in front of and behind a camera
- Proficient video editing skills in native social media tools (TikTok, Instagram Reels) and content creation apps
- The drive to not only maintain, but also build upon USU’s digital presence across TikTok and Instagram Reels
- High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deal with fast-paced environments and thrive under pressure and deadlines
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn, improve and develop new skills
- Must be a current University of Sydney student and completing their studies no earlier than end of Sem 2, 2024

ABOUT THE USU
The USU (University of Sydney Union) is a not-for-profit organisation, whose purpose is to be the heart of campus life and we have been doing that since 1874.
Led by a student board elected by our members, the USU provides events on campus such as WelcomeFest, festivals, events and parties. We also run an amazing array of programs, including an active volunteering program and a Language Exchange Program, to name a few. We support over 200 Clubs and Societies as well as operate bars, food and retail outlets across campus, providing great coffee, fresh affordable food, graduation gown hire and official USYD merchandise.
