AddressPerth Waldorf School invites applications for a Student Engagement/ Wellbeing Officer/Youth Worker
(1FTE) Full-time, Commencing ASAP
The Perth Waldorf School teaches students from Kindergarten to Class 12, according to Rudolf Steiner's indications. The Steiner curriculum is holistic, creative, and intelligently structured to meet the needs of young people at their developmental stage, ensuring that well-being is at the core of all we do.
We seek a motivated and dedicated person to work alongside our Student Support team to provide care and support for students (approximately 280) from Classes 7 to 12 at our Bibra Lake campus.
The Student Support team works collaboratively, supporting students to flourish and promoting young people's engagement and connectedness to school. You will need to work collaboratively to deliver opportunities for personal growth and engagement to our wonderful young people.
As the Student Engagement Officer, you will need to engage with anthroposophy, the Steiner curriculum, and the school ethos. We will help you do that.
Part of your work will involve supporting and resourcing vulnerable young people and their families to access professional support outside of school. In addition, you will support staff in meeting the needs of these young people in an authentic and relationship-based way.
You must be willing to work closely with class teachers and regularly accompany students into the classroom during challenging periods to ensure they feel supported. It’s a wonderful opportunity to work holistically, show empathy, and use your skills to navigate highly sensitive environments and situations as necessary.
Opportunities exist to assist with the creation and delivery of educational programs and conversations that support young people in dealing with challenges such as drugs and alcohol, body image, and online safety. You will have the chance to positively impact young people's lives and support the development of their capacity for self-determination and engagement with learning and the school community.
