About us 

UOW Pulse is a not for profit organisation that enhances campus life for students and staff through events, entertainment and experiences. We work across a diverse range of outlets and commercial sectors to provide and deliver a memorable experience for the entire UOW community. 

The role 

Our Student Engagement team are seeking a part time Volunteer Coordinator who will be based on the Wollongong campus. You will be responsible for engaging students through the volunteering program. 

You will create opportunities for students to get involved in events, festivals, workshops, sports, charitable projects and more. Working alongside the Student Engagement team, you will ensure that volunteers are well informed and feel supported in their role.

You will be a strong communicator with the ability to interact and build relationships with students. The role is part time, working 30 hours per week and is a 12 month contract based on funding.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification, or relevant work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lead and direct small teams and achieve set outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet overlapping deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of attention to detail in all aspects.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding and experience of student organisations in a university environment will be highly desirable.
