About the role:
A crucial college role in driving a positive and inclusive Student Experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Arrival & Orientation
- Update pre-arrival online units and other pre-arrival materials
- Work with the Student and Academic Services team to send Welcome messages and pre-arrival information to students prior to course start date
- Work with Student and Academic Services team to monitor completion of any pre-arrival tasks, following up with individual students where necessary
- Organise online meetings for student queries prior to arrival
- Source and make up student Welcome Packs, periodically reviewing the content and quality
- Coordinate the Orientation program for all cohorts in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders ensuring all compliance requirements are met
Student Events and Engagement
- Design the student social program with input from the Student Support Team and Student Representative Council
- Organise and deliver social programs for students within the allocated budget
- Assist in leading and mentoring the Student Representative Council
- Assist in recruiting and coordinating team of student volunteers to act as buddies to new students
- Complete stocktake of all Orientation/Celebration of Success stock every semester
- Utilise technology to enhance communication, social networking, associated with our student cohorts from pre-arrival to alumni, promoting all events widely, creating stories for official Taylors College social media in liaison with marketing team
- Produce and send out weekly student newsletter
- Assist in the coordination of Celebration of Success across all programs in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders
Student Services Support
- Maintain a professional, safe, clean and welcoming environment
- Ensure student handbooks, FAQs and Student Support pages are up to date
- Assist students with their enquiries, signposting them to the relevant person
- Assist in marketing events, campus tours and visits from prospective students, parents, agents and others
- Create contacts with International Student organisations, promoting relevant events, resources and information to students
Admin
- Obtain student feedback and measure impact of activities and Student Experience initiatives
- Provide monthly reports to the Senior Leadership Team on service provision, participation rates and general Student Experience
- Contribute to the continuous improvement, quality assurance, policy and procedures, relating to Student Experience and student support in the college
- Support colleagues in the Student Success Team, assisting others with tasks as required in peak periods
- Assist with any other reasonable campus duties as required by the Senior Leadership Team
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
