We are looking for an energetic, empathetic and community-minded professional to join our Student Wellbeing Team as a Student Wellbeing Officer, responsible for providing general pastoral care and wellbeing support to students.The Student Wellbeing Officer’s focus is on providing effective Tier 1 supports, general strategies and interventions aimed at promoting overall Student Wellbeing. The SWO will be working both within and outside the classroom itself.The Student Wellbeing Officer will work under the direction of the school leadership team and school specialist staff to support student. Under the direction of school leadership and specialist staff, the Student Wellbeing Officer may contribute to targeted Tier 2 interventions being more specific and tailored to address the individual needs of students who require additional support.Qualifications Certificate IV qualification in Pastoral Care, Youth Work, equivalent or higher certificate with at least two competencies in mental health, making appropriate referrals, working with young people or cultural awareness and support.Completion of the professional learning package, ‘Responding To and Preventing Cyberbullying’ delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing and every two years thereafter.Note 1: The Student Wellbeing Officer may be ‘working towards’ the above qualifications.
