JOB TITLE: SUBSEA ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support to the Senior Subsea Engineer for management and execution of the SURF scope, Subsea Engineering related tender responses, concept, FEED and Detailed Design in relation to new, existing or end of life/decommissioning projects. This role will involve preparation of procedures for offshore marine operations and construction matters, and responsibility for execution of all subsea elements of such projects (excluding wells).

  • Ensuring that the project is delivered with a clear focus on quality and in a way that meets Petrofac (and Client's) HSE requirements.
  • Supporting business development opportunities and provide subsea input for integrated decommissioning and operations projects; including identification of and collaboration with required with partners and subcontractors where relevant.
  • Providing technical input in support of subsea elements of project delivery.
  • Provide support to all subsea studies and projects in the region.
  • Ensuring that all Subsea Engineering and operations comply with Petrofac standards and the relative legislative requirements.
  • Providing commercial and technical support for the preparation of tender documents and proposals.
  • Supporting building a strong and positive team culture within and between Project Teams and subcontracting partners.
  • Provide support to management of project interfaces; project risk; weekly project reporting & monthly project reporting inclusive of cost and schedule information as related to subsea projects.
  • Provide support to the technical and commercial management of subcontractor for any subsea equipment procurement, attending equipment testing.
  • Active participation in key project milestones, e.g., Risk Assessments, HAZOPs and HAZIDs.
  • Provide support to the offshore execution including supervision of equipment vendor personnel, daily activity reporting and management of change (MOC).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensuring that all subsea work and/or projects are delivered with a clear focus on personal and environmental safety and quality; in a way that meets Petrofac's HSE requirements and expectations.
  • Ensuring that all Subsea Engineering and operations comply with Petrofac standards and the relative legislative requirements
  • Management of project interfaces, project risk as related to subsea projects.
  • Provide support to the management of equipment vendors.
  • Provide support to the offshore execution.
  • Supporting adherence to gated project execution methodology/strategy in the delivery of all project scopes.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Subsea Engineering and familiar with subsea production system.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or suitably technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements as related to subsea facilities and decommissioning.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices associated with subsea infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge and working experience of gaining support from operations teams.
  • Proven track record in interfacing with multiple stakeholders in project execution including project controls, management, sub-contractors.
  • Subsea pipeline pre-commissioning knowledge and experience are desirable but not essential.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong track record in delivering on project commitments.
  • Demonstrated communication, organisational and planning skills.
  • Proven track record in HSE awareness and leadership.
