General Requirements

To meet the requirements of the role, a Subsea Project Engineer will typically have 2-5 years’ experience in their discipline and will largely work as a contributor in a team environment. They will be expected to be able to work autonomously to deliver technical scopes and act as a technical reviewer for work. A Subsea Project Engineer will typically collaborate with other Engineers and Graduate Engineers on a project under the supervision of a senior colleague to deliver larger scopes. 

Candidates must be proficient with technical language in both written and spoken English and Polish for international business communication purposes.

Subsea Project Engineers are required to have a recognised engineering degree with a major in a civil, mechanical or chemical engineering. Experience with scientific programming techniques or applied problem-solving is advantageous but not required.

Candidates will be evaluated on their potential to deliver the key responsibilities required of the role, in addition to the mandatory skills and experience criteria outlined in this position description.

Key Responsibilities 

Project Engineers work as part of an engineering team to perform subsea engineering analysis, prepare engineering documentation and deliver results across a range of client projects. In parallel to working in a project team, Engineers will work with the support of colleagues to work through training activities to develop scientific programming skills and the discipline knowledge required to excel in the role. Project Engineers will contribute to or be responsible for preparation of project deliverables in areas of their experience, 

  1. Engineering Design and Analysis:
    1. Contribute to stress analysis, flow-induced vibration analysis, and simulation of complex multi-physics pipeline phenomena using SEA’s suite of automated engineering tools
    2. Contribute to design calculations and documentation for different project phases (Concept/Feasibility, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction and Operations).
    3. Contribute to pipeline-related packages such as linepipe, valves, actuators, and fittings.
  2. Project Management and Collaboration:
    1. Engage with project teams, contributing to delivery of scope within schedule and budget.
    2. Assist with risk assessments, safety management system workshops, and provide technical support for engineering and design processes.
    3. Communicate with project managers, client stakeholders and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  3. Technical Expertise and Development:
    1. Developing knowledge of pipeline integrity and operations, maintenance philosophies, and relevant Australian and International standards (DNV ST-F101, AS2885, ASME B31.12, API 6D, API 5L, AS 3862).
    2. Developing expertise in subsea pipeline mechanical design and related analyses

Skills and Experience:

  1. Qualifications:
    1. Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering.
  2. Experience:
    1. Minimum two years experience in a technical engineering role.
    2. Awareness of and/or experience with pipeline design, including concept development, FEED, and detailed design phases.
    3. Proficiency in the use of software to perform engineering tasks
  3. Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    1. Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and Polish.
    2. Ability to collaborate and work independently.
    3. Developing problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
