Our client a Global Oil and Gas Operator in Perth CBD are currently seeking SUBSURFACE DATA SPECIALIST for a 12-month contract.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Actively manages SUBSURFACE Data and documents in the exploration / development: geoscience, reservoir and production, GIS and permit data domains. This includes monitoring data quality, standards, compliance, governance policies, and adjusting data in support of organizational objectives.
- Lead and drive cross-functional initiatives to improve existing data and acquire, load, archive, organize, search data to support business success in the context of Upstream projects.
- Oversees the management of all types of data and documents received into and going out of the corporate and project data stores, adhering to standard processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring consistent data management practices, acting as a liaison between the asset/discipline teams and data management.
- Oversees all operational, quality assurance, and quality control processes to build/maintain a robust O&G Upstream database
- Data management standards and best practices.
- Familiar with processes and workflows related to data management.
- Up-to-date with latest technologies including petrotechnical interpretation platforms.
- Project management practices and execution.
- Data query and analysis toolsets (E.g. SQL, Python, NoSQL).
- Strong understanding of Upstream data, Master data, Spatial data and databases.
- Strong understanding of E&P asset lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of data quality control.
- Strong understanding of one or more Geoscience Knowledge Domains
- Provide input to data management planning activities and resourcing estimates, as required.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced Data Specialist personnel and provides coaching function to Subsurface Discipline personnel.
- Liaise effectively with the follows: Subsurface personnel to determine requirements, workflows and data types within the Production & RE, Geophysics & Seismic, Well & Petrophysics, GIS & Permit data management domains.
- Information Technology and Technical Computing personnel to determine requirements within the Data Security and Access, Technology
- Management &IT and Digital Transformation data management domains.
- Information Management and Document Control personnel to determine requirements within the Data & Document Distribution and Document Management domains.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences, or Information
- Technology; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a strong knowledge of workflows and the data impact to workflows in Upstream.
- Experience in data profiling and data quality principles and techniques is an advantage.
- Certified Petroleum Data Analyst (CPDA) credential
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a petrotechnical data manager (Well,
- Seismic, Spatial or Production domains).
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions within the organization.
- Can successfully supervise and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in assimilation and prioritization of extensive information flows.
- Ability to meet strict timelines.
- Ability to explain Data Management concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on ability with industry data management key applications (list portfolio applications).
