About SUMHIIT Fitness:

SUMHIIT Fitness, an emerging fitness franchise concept, is a hyper-condensed, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) group workout that packs 50 minutes of supercharged exercise into only 35 minutes. Coach-led throughout the session, participants alternate every 60 seconds between heart-thumping cardio on the air bike and strength moves on the floor that keep muscles guessing. The workout unites those who love to push hard, sweat hard and celebrate wins together, creating an intense training experience unique to the fitness industry.

The Role:

As an Assistant Studio Manager, you will lead a dynamic studio team that inspires, transforms and empowers others to live healthier lives and to be the best version of themselves. You will work alongside and report to the Studio Manager to learn and execute business rhythms, success routines and best practice in successfully growing, operating and supporting a fast-paced boutique fitness studio. You will play a critical role in greeting everyone who enters the studio with enthusiasm, energy and knowledge. You will build an inclusive studio community by fostering personal connections with your team and studio members whilst also leading your team in all aspects of people management including hiring, training and development, in order to drive results and performance.

This position is a part-time opportunity that requires a commitment of up to 30 hours per week.

Day to day will include:

  • Assisting the Studio Manager in organising, planning and implementing strategies to reach studio targets
  • Greeting members and guests promptly, enthusiastically and delivering exceptional customer service experiences
  • Managing the execution and consistency of all front desk systems and operating procedures
  • Communicating with prospective new members, understanding their needs and providing an appropriate membership recommendation
  • Selling memberships, class packages and retail products to support the studio achieving monthly KPIs and revenue targets
  • Promoting retail products and educating members on the benefits of products available in the studio
  • Leading daily shift operations including shift huddles, on-the-spot coaching and ensuring membership targets are met 
  • Organising and assisting in the operational success of SUMHIIT’S classes (creating seating charts, assisting members with check-in, preparing equipment etc.)
  • Maintaining the highest of safety and cleanliness standards in and around our studio including regularly cleaning of the lobby, training floor, studio equipment, storage areas and bathrooms
  • Completing product orders and ensuring the studio is well-stocked at all times
  • Conducting lead management activities including telephone enquiries and follow up calls with prospective new members and guests
  • Supporting SUMHIIT’S referral program by routinely inviting members of the community to bring friends, families and co-workers into the studio
  • Participating in new member outreach activities and field marketing events
  • Managing any client or team member concerns
  • Completing daily operations reports and maintaining accurate, up-to-date notes in the studio’s CRM system

Experience and about you:

  • Customer Service or retail experience
  • Sales and member engagement experience
  • Certificate III or IV in Fitness
  • CPR & First Aid Certificate 
  • Availability to work early mornings and evenings, Monday – Sunday
  • Ability to coach classes in studio 
  • Previous management experience
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint preferable
  • Displays enthusiasm, energy and a passion for health and fitness 
  • Naturally connects and builds rapport with a range of people and personalities
  • Enjoys and thrives in sales-focused roles; performance-driven with the ability to direct sales through outreach programs and local community events
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to lead — set direction, inspire action, delegate tasks, train, develop, and hold people accountable
  • Forward thinking and creative
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to execute a game plan
