About the Role

Reporting to Manager Mining Equipment Maintenance at Area C, In the capacity of Superintendent Auxiliary Maintenance, you will provide leadership and direction to the Light Vehicle and Dewatering team (Auxiliary Maintenance) in order to to achieve exceptional performance in safety, culture, cost and quality outcomes.

This role is based in the Pilbara on a FIFO roster and supports Area C & South Flank.

In this position you will:

  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader by engaging, developing and coaching your team whilst ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to support customer group by leveraging BOS practices
  • Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to the business
  • Monitor the application of maintenance execution processes within the team to support local and GLD compliance
  • Positively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
  • Lead and develop a team of technical and operational professionals
  • Support Dewatering projects to allow effective abstraction of the water from pit areas in line with licencing and mining requirements.
  • Support Light Vehicle
  • Provide inputs into planning to ultimately optimise maintenance practices for the team
About You

To be successful in this role you will have a background in maintenance. Mining or production combined with genuine passion for continuous improvement, are results focused with a demonstrated track record working with others to achieve successful business outcomes.

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
  • Trade or Tertiary qualifications are desirable, however not essential
  • Foundational leadership experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement strategies and change management processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to support cross-departmental engagement and effective communication throughout multiple levels of the business
  • Proactive leader who utilised the BHP Operating System to drive team performance
  • The ability to engage and find positive outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
