About the opportunity
The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne’s east.
Laing O’Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria’s toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Civil & Structures Superintendents to join us on the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance. We have a strong pipeline with many opportunities for career progression right here in Victoria.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for, and not limited to;
- providing input into the master construction plan
- Managing a team on-site to achieve project objectives, and planning and programming daily construction activities
Additionally, you will lead section meetings and review progress in productivity and achievement of commercial requirements, contribute to the contract review process and ensure effective implementation of Laing O’Rourke’s project management systems and procedures
About you
- A relevant trade qualification combined with significant construction delivery experience in the construction/infrastructure industry
- A collaborative style of leadership and effective communication both written and oral
- Have excellent client interface, coordination, time management and safety leadership skills
- Ability to manage a large team demonstrating our project values
- You have a focus on developing a great culture within your team and the wider project
