Superintendent Environment and Sciences

NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) is currently seeking to appoint a permanent full time Superintendent Environment and Sciences to join the Production Department at Gladstone Power Station, working a 40-hour week on a 9-day fortnight basis. 

The purpose of the Superintendent Environment and Sciences role is to lead the Environment and Sciences Team within the Production Department and support the Manager Production in achieving the Department objectives. This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Ensuring compliance with GPS environmental licence obligations, policies and procedures and providing governance and oversight into environmental matters affecting GPS. 
  • Managing and leading the day-to-day operation of the GPS chemical treatment programs and processes to ensure optimal availability and reliability of the plant. 
  • Provision of technical advice and support on environmental and power station chemistry matters This role is supported by technical process/chemical engineering expertise, and operational and laboratory staff.

The successful candidate will have Tertiary Qualifications in Environment or a related discipline, partnered with at least 5 years’ experience in industry. The successful applicant will be required to have demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, government policies and reporting requirements, and previous supervisory experience. Effective communication, problem solving, and incident investigation skills as essential.
