Superintendent Geology

- Leadership and training of teams in safety management systems, risks, policies and procedures
- Driving operational and technical excellence by mentoring and identifying development opportunities for team members
- Working closely with technical and operations stakeholders both on site and within the wider business
- Lead planning and design drill programs for risk management in resources and reserves (grade, metallurgical, geotechnical, density, environmental and hydrogeology)
- Lead collection and interpretation of data from drill programs
- Lead accurate collection of downhole geophysical data to support geological interpretation
- Ensure compliance to all standards and procedures relating to data collection and field work
- Ensure sampling and QA/QC of geological data is maintained to a high standard
- Lead delivery of reporting obligations and expenditure to maintain tenure
- Lead the management and timely delivery of technical projects related to developing and improving geological knowledge within the Project area
- Lead in reviewing existing technical processes and implementing new ones.
- Forecast correct cost allocations of project expenditure and flag budget variations
- Provide leadership and support for contractor management through regular reviews and feedback
- Compliance with government permits and all related licences to operate
- Support and coordinate delivery of reporting obligations and expenditure to maintain tenure.
- Liaise with team members and stakeholders on drilling and evaluation priorities.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geology (or related field) with practical experience in exploration, evaluation or hydrogeology
- Demonstrated knowledge of mining/mapping and modelling software packages (preferably LeapFrog, ArcMap and acQuire)
- Copper experience is preferred, as well as an understanding of the relevant exploration and evaluation techniques
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Previous experience / exposure to diamond, RC and hydro drilling programs are essential
- Strong analytical and inter-personal skills.
