The Opportunity

MinRes Marine Port Operation is expanding and seeking Superintendent Marine to join the team.

The Superintendent Marine to deliver world class port operation productivity, safety and innovation in support of the Onslow Iron Ore Project. This role is a key interface between the Port, Marine and Mining Operations teams and Port Authority to ensure the project achieves maximum throughput, in a safe manner.

This position will report directly to the Manager of Port Operations and you will be based at our HQ office on Osborne Park, and joining a great team culture with strong career pathway opportunities.

Your primary responsibilities may include;

  • Supervise safety and efficiency of the MinRes Onslow Iron Port Facility Port Operations and pilotage operations.
  • Development of the Port Facility compliance documentation as required by Port Facility Agreement.
  • Ensure Mineral Resources documentation compliance with Australian and International standards and regulations
  • Optimise Port Support Fleet and TSV Operations
  • Supervise the design and implementation of the Port Communications Centre.

What is required?

  • Extensive experience across Marine Projects or similar vessel operational experience
  • Class 1 Marine Engineer or alternate senior AMSA Certification (preferred).
  • High level of initiative, planning and drive to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.

About Onslow Port

The Onslow Port covers the coastal component of the Onslow Iron Project. The site is currently under construction, with first ore expected mid-2024. Central to Onslow Iron’s success will be its innovative transhipping solution, which will allow MinRes to ship millions of tonnes of ore without the need for a deep-water port. The resort style accommodation village on Onslow Beach will set a new industry standard for an anticipated 450 workers.
