  • Full time or Part time Supervising Psychologists, fixed term employment up to 30 June 2026. Located at either Camperdown or Parramatta offices

  • Opportunity to provide psychological treatment (cognitive therapy) to clients experiencing gambling-related harms and supervise clinical interns and staff

  • Base Salary HEO 8 $117,116 - $132,079 p.a. (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for Supervising Psychologists to be part of the GambleAware team. The Supervising Psychologist will be required to provide cognitive therapy, supervise clinical interns, and assist with regional and staff management. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to community engagement and outreach as well as clinical research and service delivery evaluation.

The role will be offered flexible work arrangements including work-from-home as appropriate, flexible hours, including potentially the option to work on Saturdays.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide and/or supervise clinicians in treatment, assessment, and crisis intervention with clients

  • conduct psychological assessments and treatment for clients for gambling harm and any related comorbidities, as specified by the Clinic Director

  • manage client data and enter into relevant Client Management database

  • contribute to data entry, data checking, analysis and report writing as required

  • supervise interns to ensure the objectives, policies, and procedures of the clinic are met

  • apply knowledge and experience to innovate practices, processes, or procedures within the GambleAware service

  • participate in community engagement events to build links with key community stakeholders and to raise awareness of gambling harm in the community

  • contribute to the achievement of clinic and team outcomes, by coordinating projects, activities or tasks as specified by the Clinic Director.

About you

  • a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or similar

  • registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and included on the national register of practitioners which is managed by AHPRA

  • been approved as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia

  • excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team as well as work as part of the team

  • a demonstrated understanding and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines

  • been endorsed as a clinical psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (desirable

  • experience in supervision of clinical interns and the provision of CBT (desirable)

  • the ability to conduct therapy in a community language other than English (desirable)

  • experience in community engagement activities (desirable)

  • experience in working for not-for-profit organisations, NGOs or in a tertiary education institution or similar field (desirable).
