As Shift Supervisor and Storeman, you will be required to carry out a range of duties across both roles, including:
- Monitor the daily operations of the business to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Monitor employee punctuality and performance (of checkout and fill staff during their shift) ensuring that tasks are completed properly and in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries including packing and checking online orders.
- Store set-up, checkout, displays and restocking as needed.
- Receive deliveries, coordinate and put up stock safely and efficiently, maintaining cold-chain and receival procedures.
- Maintain various registers including temps and tares.
- Ensure hygiene, housekeeping and safe work practices are adhered to.
- Count and balance all tills at the end of the shift.
- Close and secure the shop at the end of the day.
Qualities you possess will include:
- Be reliable and flexible with availability to include weekend shifts and afternoons.
- Previous supermarket experience.
- Ability to work in a team and effectively communicate with staff that you are supervising.
- Assign tasks to staff under supervision and ensure they are carried out correctly, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Ability to resolve issues in a diplomatic and friendly manner.
- Enjoy using your initiative and abilities to improve the operations and appeal of the store.
- Be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Be willing to work and able to follow, create, refine and implement procedures.
- Possess food safety and hygiene training or be willing to do online courses to comply (free access to training modules).
- Be able to respond quickly, calmly and practically as needed.
- Ensure customers are satisfied and able to find what they are looking for.
- Possess physical strength necessary to move and stock products.
- Be familiar with basic computer programs, inventory and ticketing software.
- Ability to multitask on a daily basis and work quickly.
- Be reliable and honest.
25 to 30 hours per week at the Award rate plus all penalties and super with a view to a part-time role if suitable for both parties.
