The Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens are located at Benowa with over 33 hectares of high-profile gardens, maintained lawn areas, and associated infrastructure. The gardens are one of the City’s premium destinations and attract over 300,000 visitors annually.
About your new role
An opportunity exists within the Natural Area Conservation team as Horticultural Supervisor at the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens (GCRBG). Based at the gardens, and under the direction of the Curator, the role supports the Garden’s team of dedicated horticulturalists to maintain and enhance the living collection. The role coordinates the delivery of projects and works to maintain the Garden’s high standard of presentation, to help ensure a positive and safe visitor experience for our community. Importantly the role supports our active volunteer group, Friends of the Botanic Gardens. The GCRBG is a high-profile destination, with a high number of visitors and events, and the role is required to manage and support these activities to showcase the Gardens.

We're looking for people who have:
- Bachelor of Horticulture or equivalent industry knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated operational experience (5+ years) in the management and maintenance of botanic gardens, or similar high-profile gardens, and associated infrastructure.
- People leader and team builder.
- Passion for plant conservation.
- Experienced Project Manager.
- Focused on safety.
- Commercial Operators Licence (ACDC), highly desirable.
- Drivers Licence Class C or above.
- WHS General Construction White Card.
- Participate in the on-call roster, weekend shifts and events when required.
- Chainsaw crosscut and tree felling tickets highly desirable.
