Your contribution

Using your understanding and experience as a people leader you will:

  • oversee the day-to-day operations and supervision of a compliance team focused on liaising with employers, workers and stakeholders to improve voluntary participation and compliance with the portable long service leave schemes
  • provide oversight of a team which audits duty holders to determine compliance under the legislation
  • develop registers and controls to manage workflow within the team in an equitable and efficient manner to achieve consistent customer service
  • ensure compliance with legislation, policies, procedures, standards and systems and within the team and adherence to strategic and customer experience goals
  • identify system and business process improvements to improve the quality of compliance related activities in QLeave
  • assist with the design, development and implementation of a compliance plan for each of the scheme industries
  • collect and analyse industry data and trends and prepare regular compliance reports including statistical analysis and projections
  • oversee the development and maintenance of work instructions to ensure processes reflect current business priorities
  • ensure accurate and timely data entry processing undertaken by your team
  • provide advice to clients, staff and other stakeholders on matters relating to compliance activities
  • ensure that QLeave application processing or client service issues, including complaints, are resolved or escalated in a timely and professional manner
  • meet agreed performance targets as a team leader and conduct performance and development planning activities with team members
  • foster an environment that is focused on enhancing the customer experience, responding to change positively and identifying and implementing business and system improvements.

This position reports to the Manager Enforcement and supervises a team of 11.

What we are looking for

For this role, we will consider how well you:

  • have demonstrated experience, or relevant experience, in leading a program of change management in a compliance team associated with a change in regulatory approach and implementation of governance systems
  • have demonstrated experience of innovatively leading a team of compliance officers utilising a positive performance approach to people management
  • have strong auditing skills to monitor compliance-based activities and apply investigation skills to uncover areas of non-compliance, and provide timely and accurate oral and written communication advising of compliance outcomes
  • apply, interpret, and provide advice on legislative obligations across three pieces of legislation to both internal and external stakeholders
  • have demonstrated strong conflict resolution and complaint management skills, preferably in a compliance context
