YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Supplier Expediting Specialistto join our team based in Macquarie Park. This is a hybrid role working both at home and in the office, and you'll be supported by our friendly management and the rest of the team to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure Blackwoods supplier backlog is maintained to acceptable levels, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and smooth the flow of product through the supply chain.

No two days will be the same whilst you manage backlog for major suppliers in Blackwoods, and you'll work closely with key suppliers to understand potential delays and find ways to mitigate any issues. It will also involve working cross functionally with our other teams to communicate any issues and work with the business to find fast resolutions.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Link into the purchasing team to drive sustainable backlog solutions
  • Work with vendors to improve operational relationships and quality of response
  • Work with vendors and category team to obtain Better Buy opportunities
  • Develop and enhance backlog reporting
  • Work cross functionally to action redistribution of stock, defer, redirect or cancel open orders
  • Liaise with Branch/Department Managers to review current delays and alternate options
  • Identify system input parameters such as safety stock overrides, minimum stock presence and other inventory parameters based on observations from the expediting process
  • Review overdue purchase order report and work towards reducing backlog by identifying ways to resolve backlog issues
  • Review backorder report to ensure orders are placed and expedited to support customer demand

What you'll bring to your new role:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and holding to account
  • Confidently collaborates with all stakeholders to resolve delay issues and source alternate solutions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel (formula functionality required)
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and an analytical mindset
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems and enthusiasm to learn new skills and programs
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst being a strong team player
  • Self-starter with plenty of initiative and desire to see tasks through to completion
