About the role
As a Supply Planner, you play a critical role in supporting the monthly and weekly supply planning process and master plan for materials, capacities and cost. Your primary objective is to ensure that future supply volume schedules are fully supported by assumptions based upon demonstrated performance and capabilities, thus contributing to the achievement of the financial and service objectives of Telstra.
Key responsibilities
This is how you'll bring the purpose of your role to life, as a Supply Planner you will:
- Operate within standard practices and procedures, with support from Senior Supply Planners, when working with transports/logistics and the demand team regarding constraints that arise to optimise production and customer service.
- Foster continuous improvement and provide recommendations for alternative courses of action by analysing demand and supply, available capacity levels and identifying out-of-balance conditions to better meet customer needs.
- Actively contribute to an integrated master plan that can be used for detailed material and capacity planning as well as financial planning that drives all company priorities in third party manufacturing, sales, operations and finance.
- Authentically engage with sales and supplier schedulers to manage schedule changes and materials planning as required to ensure optimal customer service standards.
- Contribute to the delivery of the weekly supply/supply and demand review meetings by supporting the development of the monthly supply review pack, providing input into prior supply chain performance and suggesting ways to resolve issues.
- Take ownership to educate others within the team on planning issues and policy guidelines pertaining to planning procedures, contributing to knowledge building and capability uplift.
- Support team-based planning activities over a short-term horizon by contributing to the development of a monthly financial summary of capacity utilisation and working capital to ensure that it is within budget.
- Take accountability to learn and challenge current manufacturing/supply strategies for all product lines to ensure that the best and most customer-oriented and cost-effective strategy is being used across Telstra.
- Use critical thinking to summarise daily and weekly master schedules for released and firm planned orders and compare these to the supply plan to ensure that the master plan is within S&OP policy.
To be successful in the role of Supply Planner, you will have:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience and demonstrative skills in Supply Planning
- Demonstrated skills in IBP/S&OP.
- Demonstrated contemporary functional supply chain knowledge and application within a complex environment, including multi-side knowledge.
- Demonstrated understanding of supply chain metrics and improvement initiatives.
- ERP Software knowledge and experience, SAP preferred.
- Advanced Supply Chain Planning Systems (e.g. JDA, Gains, Oracle, Logility).
- Microsoft Office Suite, proficient in Excel, Power BIExperience.
- Relevant experience within Industrial/Telco Network or other world class supply chain environment.
- Successful track record in managing materials requirements planning and distribution requirements planning within dynamic supply chain and customer environment.
