Come and discover the opportunity to join our Supply Chain team as a Supply Planner/Supply Specialist. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.

In this diverse and challenging role, you will be working within a small and supportive team, utilising your Supply knowledge and expertise to support our operational and financial functions. Taking ownership of monitoring supply performance within the business and managing improvement plans, you’ll have the opportunity to make the role your own. You’ll work alongside and build relationships with our dedicated manufacturing business and procurement team, playing a key role in ensuring our initiatives are solutions focused and aligned to relevant customer demands.

Reporting to the S&OP Manager you’ll benefit from the support of strong leadership and be encouraged to develop your skills and experience where you can to further your career with us here at BlueScope. You’ll also play a pivotal role in improving processes, enhancing efficiencies and implementing technological and systems improvements.

This role will ideally be located in Salisbury, QLD but Sydney, Port Kembla, Melbourne and Adelaide can also be considered.

What Will You Do?

As a high performer, your natural problem solving ability will support the supply planning functions and, in turn, will ensure products are delivered to our customers as promised. You will:

  • adopting a Continuous Improvement Mindset, review and optimise processes to help drive conformance to business targets
  • conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for gaps within supply plans to improve alignment between customer demand and operational capabilities, whilst maximising profitability

More About You

Together with your enthusiasm to develop your career, you’ll have working knowledge of planning and scheduling in a manufacturing operations environment and the drive to co-ordinate processes and projects toward success. You will bring:

  • previous experience in supply planning
  • knowledge and experience of MS Office and SAP/JD Edwards or a similar ERP system
  • an aptitude in data analysis, root cause analysis and problem solving
  • a strong customer focus along with a high attention to detail
  • ability to optimise and improve key business outcomes across all points of business cycles
  • a commitment to the safety of yourself and others
