The Role
The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team while responsible for reducing costs through procurements strategies and improving internal efficiency of the Supply and Logistics department.

You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the systems and business processes applicable to the role, identify and prioritise improvement opportunities and formulate alternatives and improvements to systems and methods
  • Assisting the Superintendent – Supply Systems with implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of up to date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team
  • Providing analytical support to the Supply & Logistics team
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of processes, systems, and tools to support the role out of new Glencore initiatives where they impact on the functions of the Supply and Logistics team.
About You
This role would suit an experienced supply chain professional with experience in a Business Analytics role.

You will also have:

  • Possess an understanding of compliance, workplace health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Possess an understanding of Supply and Logistics processes including: warehousing, purchasing, inventory management, coordination of logistics, contract management, contract drafting, formal tendering etc.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of legal issues and the ability to accurately review and interpret legal documentation.
  • Ability to draft Supply & Logistics policies and procedures to suit MMO business practices and industry best practice.
  • Ability to draft for legal review Supply & Logistics documentation.
  • Ability to drive improvement projects through to completion by working effectively with Supply & Logistics and other MMO department personnel to deliver improvements/results.
  • Ability to provide training to Supply & Logistics team members in the use of systems and templates.
  • Possess strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in managing costs and budgeting 
  • Ability to prioritise and manage tasks to meet required timeframes.
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of IT systems. 
  • Advanced level skills in utilising Microsoft Office software which at a minimum must include MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word.
  • Advanced level skills in utilising the supply functions of Oracle EBS.
