About The Role
In this rewarding position, you will support clients to promote their goals and support the development of their skills and abilities whilst empowering them to live as independently as possible. Support Workers must provide frontline support to clients, implement plans, complete records, complete daily living & healthy lifestyle tasks, behave in a certain manner, and promote safety & transparency in all endeavours. What We Are Looking For
Our ideal applicant is a dedicated professional with a desire to make positive differences in the lives of others. You will be a skilled communicator with demonstrated skills in providing support. Casual positions are available.
We provide on-the-job training & support; there are also set criteria (below) which you must meet.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming
Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to appointments.
Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment, including communication boards, standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, hearing aids and other physical aids
Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
Providing general social support and spending quality team with clients
Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress
Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required
Essential Qualifications
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent qualification, and/or relevant experience in the disability sector,
OR
Current or previous Allied Health student, preferably in their 3rd or 4th year of study and/or experience in the disability sector or lived experience.
Following checks:
Drivers Licence & safe driving record
Comprehensive vehicle insurance (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid Certificate
Valid NDIS Worker Check
Current police check
