Remuneration: OPS2 ($57,842 - $62,221 p.a.) + 11% Superannuation
The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Support Worker to join the Whyalla office on a full-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Sensitively handling requests for assistance by clients and undertaking research to prepare appropriate, client centred responses
- nabling clients to access appropriate services through accurate assessment of their request and appropriate referral to Social Workers or to other agency staff
- Contributing to the development and review of intervention, access and family care plans in relation to access supervision
- Attending regular case discussions with the DCP workers, supervisor and other relevant parties as required
- Undertaking child and family support and assisting with programs and activities with cultural awareness and sensitivity.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work within a team and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of stakeholders.
You will use your understanding of child development, positive parenting techniques and factors that impact on relationships between children, young people and their families to identify innovative solutions and provide efficient client services.

The Whyalla office has a fulltime equivalent of 35 employees and is one of 6 offices in the region. As a member of this team you will work with other professionals to deliver services to young people and families in the Whyalla Region.
