Job description

Join our team as aSupport Workerin the Staying at Home Program and provide high-level support and engagement during our enriching retreats.

As aSupport Worker, you will work closely with customers to identify their areas of interest and social engagement, encouraging and supporting their participation in various activities throughout the 3-day, 2-night retreat

You will also collaborate with the Retreat Lead to ensure the seamless operation of retreats across metro and regional South Australia, providing essential overnight support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and manage various day trips as part of the program, such as visits to local cafe, shops or attractions.
  • Support smooth running of retreat through activities such as preparing morning and afternoon tea and setting up for meals.
  • Share and extend information to customers and their family or carers about community resources and opportunities for customers to participate actively in community life.

About you

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Community Services or equivalent qualification and experience
  • Experience in working with people living with dementia is highly regarded as part of this role.
  • Experience in a Community Services role and a passion for working with others and bettering your community.
  • Volunteering Experience is heavily regarded.

Due to the nature and requirements of this role, you will potentially be required to be away from Adelaide at retreats for several days at a time.
