The Opportunity
This position is based in our Breakthru unit, in our Community Supports program. It is to work approximately 25 hours/week across 3 days providing in-home supports to a person with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Shifts include ensuring that the individual (who is predominantly self-managed) has support when there may be instances of breathlessness or trouble breathing. This includes overseeing day-to-day activities and monitoring situations as a precaution, encouraging the right pace for certain activities, providing calm support and check ins during any episodes, and encouraging strategic activities to assist in managing symptoms as per their individual Support Plan.
Interested?
This wonderful opportunity is required to be occupied by female staff due to the random occurrences of COPD and the possibility that incidents may occur at home during times of personal care and hygiene. It would suit candidates who are calm and confident, and understand the balance between checking in and taking over. Shifts available are ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday up to 8 hours per day, however there may be flexibility with days for the right experience.
The casual pay range on this role is between $40.25 - $42.78 per hour pending experience, with any relevant certificates or qualifications attracting the higher rate. Any travel required using your vehicle will be reimbursed per a kilometre allowance.
With a knowledgeable senior leadership team and a thorough induction and orientation plan, you will be supported to deliver service excellence to the community and develop your skills and career.
