Our client is looking for a Support worker to assist him to;
Develop life skills
Provide social and emotional support
Provide practical support (including transport, and support at appointments)
The client has Autism Spectrum Disorder and mental health challenges. He works best with older males (over 40s) who role model the traditional and conservative values that he holds, and are well-presented. Ideal candidates for the role would;
- Be dedicated to helping the client meet their goals and expand their skills, and be practical and motivated
- Be trustworthy, honest, and caring
- Have a range of life skills (such as organic gardening, keeping your life and home well organised, or minor household repairs and maintenance) and a patient approach to helping others develop these skills
- Show genuine interest in clients, learning their stories and perspectives, and engaging in genuine conversation
- Live their own life in a principled way in line with their own values
The role is based in Windsor, QLD with pay in line with the NDIS pricing arrangements. Hours are negotiable, with the view to providing a number of half- and/or full-day shifts per week in an ongoing manner.
You will work alongside the client’s established team (occupational therapist, psychologist, and exercise physiologist) to help him achieve his goals. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life.
