About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven Support Worker who will provide effective support to participants ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a participant lead recovery-based service.
You will successfully- Participants accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressed
- In consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential high-risk situations
- Facilitation of daily activities and programs, which may include social activities, Spirit Lifter, information groups
- Information is provided to assist in assessing and addressing participant issues, needs and circumstances
- Effective relationships are established with participants that encourage self-determination and participation and support them to improve their situation
- Relevant certificate to the work performed
- Previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training or diploma level qualification
- A current and valid First Aid Certificate
- A current drivers licence
- A current Working with Children check (Blue Card) is required for roles located at Townsville & Mount Isa sites only
This is a casual position located in Townsville, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 3.
