SURFACE MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR

The Ensham operation consists of a highly productive UG bord & pillar mine and an open cut mine that is now a major rehabilitation project, with current production levels of 4 million tonnes per annum. Ensham has been a valued contributor to the Emerald community since 1993.
Join our team at Ensham as a Surface Maintenance Coordinator.
How you will contribute:
The business requires a Surface Fixed & Mobile Plant Coordinator who can lead, plan, organise, manage, and control the mobile, field and associated surface operations infrastructure maintenance activities of the mine, and ensure they are conducted in a safe, timely, effective, efficient and cost-effective manner so that annual targets are achieved.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Plan and coordinate personnel for the mobile workshop, dragline, coal processing plant and other surface infrastructure maintenance activities including shutdowns
- Facilitate planning meetings and prioritise work lists
- Prepare weekly plans (including work orders) and deliver to supervisors and leading hands
- Develop, implement & communicate 4-week maintenance schedule for mobile equipment, dragline and coal plant
- Managing Condition Monitoring Reports of mobile and fixed plant
- Schedule statutory compliance requirements & activities, ensuring reports and record keeping are maintained, including but not limited to:
- Test & Tag Equipment
- Lifting & Hydraulic Equipment
- Coal Plant Structural
- Overhead & Mobile Cranes
- Pressure Vessels
- Brake Testing
- Schedule commissioning checks after maintenance activities
- Develop, review, implement and enforce SAP plans, work instructions, SOPs, SWPs etc
- Applying the SHMS procedures and engineering standards and confirm compliance
- Completion of purchase orders and parts ordering when required
- Plan, coordinate and record equipment & component replacement to meet maintenance strategy and budget requirements
- Contribute to strategies to minimise the maintenance costs and maximise equipment availability
- Support adhoc requirements to support the mobile and field maintenance activities
- Supporting the production department by providing reliable, well maintained, equipment and machinery
- Support the maintenance team to safely deliver the maintenance department objectives and improve engineering performance
- Lead, plan, organise, manage and control the contractors used in your area of responsibility.
What we’re looking for:
- Trade Qualifications (mechanical) and / or relevant engineering degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with open cut coal mining operations & equipment in a supervisory or similar role
- Total commitment to the mine safety initiatives & work practices
- Ability to work within and across diverse workgroups.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
