We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Surveillance Officer at the Perth CBD Office on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
About this role
As the Surveillance Officer you will be responsible for providing real time security services across all of Western Power's sites. This will include but is not restricted to monitoring Western Power facilities using onsite Security Management and Safety Systems such as integrated CCTV VMS, Access control systems, incident management and additional electronic surveillance systems to respond to various security and safety related incidents. This position will be the first point of contact for employees, contractors, Police and other stakeholders and will have an active role in the daily management of all security, access control and incident management related events. Further duties include,
- Responsible for monitoring the security and safety of Western Power facilities using onsite Security Management and Safety Systems and responding to various security related events.
- Managing of intricate alarm and access control systems to ensure that security is maximised at all locations.
- The investigation and incident management of security / criminal offences that occur against Western Power assets.
- Efficient handling of general and specialised queries, dealing with such enquires in an efficient manner and escalating where required.
- Maintaining intricate records and logging of events to ensure the integrity of all surveillance data.
- Responsible for generating detailed security and surveillance reports based on security incidents that have occurred within the network.
- Assisting with data analytics involving trend analysis and intelligence gathering to support senior security decisions.
- Assisting the security officer team in all matters of physical and electronic security.
- Responsible for maintaining daily and weekly allocated work.
- Monitor and report on security and system issues and contribute to the improvements of the integrated systems.
- Be available to respond to security related incidents to any Western Power site as directed by the Security Management Team Leader.
- Ensuring you remain contemporary with security industry knowledge and be able to take and respond to fault calls where required.
- Follow defined business processes in administering customer queries.
- Provide a safe working environment
- Follow planned instructions in response to events and incidents
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- WA Certificate of Education or equivalent
- At least 3 year previous experience in a corporate security or monitoring role
- Adequate comprehension and English skills (reading and writing)
- Be able to work well alone and in a team and the ability to concentrate throughout either a day-shift or night-shift
- The ability to deal calmly with emergency situations
- Experience using MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Practical skills to operate cameras and recording equipment
- Good level of written and verbal communication skills
- To keep information confidential
- Good observational skills
- Knowledge and experience in the Australian energy sector
- Experience in a monitoring/surveillance role
- Knowledge of access control and alarm systems
