The Role
As part of the METRONET Railcar project team the role performs inspections, internal audits and carries out surveillance of contractors' works on and off site to confirm compliance with contract conditions and specifications, public safety, rail safety and environmental standards on major transport infrastructure projects.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant technical qualification OR extensive experience relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of rail safety.
- Extensive experience in supervision of, and demonstrated competency in, civil works and maintenance including earthworks, drainage works, fencing, stone pitching and rock protection, deep excavation, embankment stabilisation, and landscaping.
- Extensive experience in supervision of, and demonstrated competency in, structural works including depot infrastructure, retaining walls, piling and road works.
- Knowledge of construction and maintenance civil works relating to pit pipe infrastructure in or about an operating electrified railway environment.
- Good understanding of and experience in, managing contractual/contractor relationships and obligations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and within a team environment, and to specify and supervise work carried out by others including consultants and contractors.
There is currently one fixed term, full-time position available until 31 December 2026, with possible extension and/or permanency. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
