Walter Surveys provides a comprehensive Civil Construction Surveying service for a wide range of projects and are seeking to appoint a Surveyor or Survey Technician to join our experienced team. We operate at the forefront of our industry and are highly sought after for our expertise and the high level of service we are able to offer our clients. We specialise in GPS machine guidance setup and models. The ideal candidate will be someone who is a team player and enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced yet supportive environment, delivering work of exceptional quality.
You will be required to undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Field surveying on construction projects including roads, dams and pipeline setout, structural concrete setout for bridges and rail, setting up base stations and GPS guided machines, laser scanning, hydrographic and aerial surveys;
- Office processing of surveys, preparation and checking of survey models, volume calculations, Machine control models and detail surveys.
- Drafting of survey plans and quality assurance.
Requirements:
It is expected that you will exhibit the following key attributes and experience:
- For a Surveyor with relevant tertiary qualification in Surveying (preferably in Australia);
- 2+ years' relevant experience (preferably in Australia).
- For a Survey Technician with 2+ years of relevant work experience;
- A proven ability to work within a team, be self-motivated and be able to assist on multiple projects concurrently with limited supervision;
- An attention to detail and be able to diligently carry out Surveying tasks with high efficiency; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be capable of liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including the client, sub-consultants and sub-contractors.
It would be advantageous to have some experience with the following Surveying equipment and software:
- Trimble Total Stations and GNSS Receivers;
- Leica Laser Scanners;
- Trimble Business Centre software
- AutoCAD or BricsCAD drafting software.

Salary $80-105k negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience.
