As a Sushi Artisan at Cater Care, located at Sunshine Coast airport, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality sushi products to our customers. This position is under the Food & Beverage category and is offered on a casual basis.
- Prepare and craft a variety of sushi dishes according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of all sushi products by following food safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi preparation area to uphold hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with team members to efficiently manage inventory levels and minimise waste.
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product recommendations and accommodating special requests.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, at all times.
Your Main Tasks:
- Cutting, slicing, and filleting various types of fish for use in sushi preparation.
- Rolling sushi rice with seaweed, vegetables, and seafood to create an assortment of sushi rolls.
- Packaging finished products attractively for display in refrigerated cases or take-away containers.
- Monitoring stock levels and liaising with management to place orders for ingredients as needed.

- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Artisan
- Thorough knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
- Ability to create visually appealing and delicious sushi dishes
- Excellent knife skills and precision in food preparation
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including evenings and weekends
- Certification in food handling and safety (desirable)
