As a Sushi Artisan at Cater Care, located at Sunshine Coast airport, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality sushi products to our customers. This position is under the Food & Beverage category and is offered on a casual basis.

• Prepare and craft a variety of sushi dishes according to recipes and customer preferences.
• Ensure the quality and freshness of all sushi products by following food safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi preparation area to uphold hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with team members to efficiently manage inventory levels and minimise waste.
• Provide excellent customer service by offering product recommendations and accommodating special requests.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, at all times.

Your Main Tasks:

• Cutting, slicing, and filleting various types of fish for use in sushi preparation.
• Rolling sushi rice with seaweed, vegetables, and seafood to create an assortment of sushi rolls.
• Packaging finished products attractively for display in refrigerated cases or take-away containers.
• Monitoring stock levels and liaising with management to place orders for ingredients as needed.

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Artisan
• Thorough knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
• Ability to create visually appealing and delicious sushi dishes
• Excellent knife skills and precision in food preparation
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including evenings and weekends
• Certification in food handling and safety (desirable)
