The Opportunity
The Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board are looking for a passionate Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator to deliver extension services to the agricultural sector, improving knowledge and uptake of climate-smart practices and understanding of carbon and biodiversity markets.
The role is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) and works closely with members of the HFLB Stewardship Program to deliver on the Board’s 2021-2026 priorities, with a focus on educating and partnering with farmers to sustainably manage our landscapes and promote sustainable primary production.

The Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board is one of nine regional boards in South Australia, including a metropolitan board called Green Adelaide, that support their local communities to manage soils, water, pests, and biodiversity. These boards invest landscape levies into regional priority issues as well as leveraging Australian Government funding towards managing and protecting our productive and natural landscapes. Special Conditions

  • A current class “C” driver’s license and willingness and ability to safely operate a manual 4WD is essential.
  • This role may require you to work alone in a field environment, including working in
  • adverse conditions from time to time.
  • This role has been designated a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework and requires a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to employment.
  • Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
Requirements
  • Contract to 30 June 2028, part-time, 30 hours per week.
  • Desirable Qualifications: An appropriate tertiary qualification in natural resource management, environmental science, agricultural science and adult education or equivalent is desirable.
  • Some out of hours work may be required.
  • This role may require you to work alone in a field environment, including working in adverse conditions from time to time.
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
Remuneration: ASO5, $84,522 - $99,003 per annum, pro-rata for part-time hours.
