We are Mingara One; the gold standard of health and wellness, boasting a state-of-the-art aquatic centre featuring a 50m indoor Olympic Pool, heated leisure pool, hydrotherapy pool, café, and swim shop. You will lead, communicate, and collaborate with ease to deliver Swim School programs built on innovation, teamwork, and accountability. Your business acumen will be complimented by a passion for swimming and exceptional service.
This role will give you a taste of everything, including:
- Providing leadership to the team including recruiting, establishing, and managing performance standards, reward and recognition, team engagement and performance management.
- Training and coaching the team, focusing on their personal development, the delivery of curriculum, best teaching practice and industry trends.
- Driving the planning, resourcing, implementation, and evaluation of the learn to swim and squad programs.
- Building relationships with both parents and students, ensuring excellence in customer service and customer retention.
- Assisting in the creation of community engagement events, roadshows and master classes in the fitness and aquatics areas.
- Monitoring water quality and reporting maintenance issues ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements for aquatic operations.
- Managing the aquatics area in line with Royal Lifesaving Code of Conduct and in compliance with legislation for pool safety and aquatics operations.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about delivering memorable experiences for team, customers and the wider community. You will have:
- Experience in managing or leading a similar leisure or aquatic facility
- A genuine and caring approach to leadership and self-development
- Knowledge and understanding of national swimming and water safety frameworks Including: Royal Life Saving, Swim and Survive, Guidelines for safe pool operations and NSW Health
- Current Working with Children Check
- Swimming and Water Safety Teacher
- Pool Operations certificate (willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid Qualification
- Pool Lifeguard Qualification
- Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation (or equivalent)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- CHCPRT025 - Identify and report children and young people at risk
- Infant and Preschool or Competitive Strokes qualification
We want you to be autonomous and will give you the trust to make key decisions. Flexibility is a must and is required to meet the needs of a 7 day a week business.
