The Scots School Albury announces a current leadership position. We are seeking a highly skilled and customer focused Maintenance Manager to lead the Grounds and Maintenance team of Albury-Wodonga’s leading Independent School. Maintenance Manager - commencing May 2024 / as negotiated.
This role is fulltime and ongoing. This position reports directly to the Head of Business Operations and leads a small team.
The successful applicant for this role will ideally have a Trade Qualification or experience maintaining facilities and grounds. The successful candidate may be an emerging leader, ready to progress to Maintenance Manager, alternatively, may also be a current Maintenance Manager looking for a more challenging role in a dynamic school environment.

About the Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Grounds and Maintenance team, will provide immediate response to high risk, urgent maintenance works, and referring of longer-term maintenance works to the Head of Business Operations. This role is responsibilities include but not limited to, on call security, contractor and project manager, work health and safety and school vehicles. The job holder will be responsible for the line management of the Grounds and Maintenance Team.
About the Applicant
The Maintenance Manager will have:
- Demonstrated experience in grounds and building maintenance and repair work.
- Working knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to follow safe work practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels of the organisation and externally. This includes an ability to effectively negotiate, resolve conflict, and provide excellent customer service.
- Forward thinking and demonstrate initiative and sound organisational skills.
- Demonstrated management or leadership experience.
Education and Qualifications
- Trade qualifications.
- Experience maintaining facilities and grounds.
- Current Australian Class MR driver's license (or equivalent)
- Experience in working in a school environment would be highly regarded.
- Current First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check Clearance or willingness to obtain.
- Current Police Check or willingness to obtain.
