Our Client, a large Federal Government Department is seeking to engage multiple System and Automation Testers with an expected start date of 01 of July 2024 to 31 October 2025.
System and Automation Tester will work in Agile teams in our high-profile software development projects. This is a fast-paced environment, and we require enthusiastic, professional Testers who have experience working on large, complex projects.
The successful applicants will be an integral part of development teams that build and maintain systems, having the opportunity to use leading edge technology. They will be responsible for analysis of requirements, the design, preparation, and execution of test cases in a large enterprise system.
Responsibilities may include:
- API and UI Automation testing;
- Create and update Automated test scripts in C# as per business requirements;
- Detect, record & manage software failures (defects);
- Utilise a custom Test automation framework - Selenium Grid, RESTful API, YAML CI/CD, Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure DevOps, GIT and a Test Data API;
- Provide input and work collaboratively with other DSD stakeholders to help deliver departmental deliverables;
- Liaise with Scrum Masters, Developers, Manual testers, and Test automation engineers;
- Update NuGet packages.
Essential criteria
- Automation testers must have demonstrated and well-developed scripting skills in C#, VBS, Java and Ruby, and the use of these skills in the development of effective automation testing. Experience in advanced automation testing, with a focus on the development of technical automation solutions to provide efficient testing outcomes;
- Well-developed testing skills, including the ability to write, review and execute complex test cases. Effectively prioritise testing efforts and test case execution, and report and track the resolution of defects/issues;
- Extensive experience (5 years+) undertaking System and integration testing of large-scale systems, using manual or automated testing methods. Experience working in an Agile software development environment as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, and experience using Azure DevOps toolset;
- Demonstrated experience in SQL and querying databases using tools such as SQL Server Management Studio Experience with API and UI Automation testing along with using a custom Selenium Web Driver test automaton framework;
- Ability to create and update automated test scripts at the UI and API layer in C# and experience coding RESTful API tests using RestSharp API. Experience with GIT version control and YAML CI/CD pipelines;
- Understanding the business context and/or IT systems used by the Department of Education or Department of Employment and Workplace Relations environment.
