Reporting to the General Manager Capital, The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the Engineering team in developing a roadmap for future project requirements. The Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in providing guidance and direction of Engineering activities, manage financial resources, budgets and ensuring compliance for relevant standards and regulations.Your proactive approach and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation is paramount as well as ensuring Engineering programs are delivered timely and organisational standards are met. You will be a people centric leader, be self-motivated and have the ability to hit the ground running to help shape the future for engineering projects at Gladstone Area Water Board.Responsibilities:
- Ensure programs are conducted within budgets, service agreements and strategic objectives
- Providing technical support and guidance to the engineering team, project managers, consultants and contractors
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage and maintain all technical documentation and processes
- Lead and mentor staff to promote a culture of teamwork and efficiency
- Comply with GAWB’S Health and Safety procedures and risk management principles
- Oversee the delivery of the Dam Safety Improvement and Compliance program
- Tertiary qualifications within Engineering (preferably Civil, Electrical or related discipline)
- Current valid “C” Class Driver’s Licence
- Demonstrated relevant experience in an equivalent role, preferably in the water industry
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Membership of Engineers Australia (CPEng) and/or Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ) is desirable
- Project Management Certification (AIPM or PMI) will also be advantageous
