Your new role
As a System and Cloud Engineer, your key responsibilities will be to analyse, advise, manage and optimise organisational use of cloud services and associated lifecycle to ensure relevant organisational and ICT objectives are met.
Role and responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
- Use infrastructure management tools to determine load, technical performance, and financial performance statistics.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work, including building and configuration of infrastructure components in virtualised environments.
- Implement agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines.
- Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure.
- Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
- Provide reports and proposals for improvement to specialists, users, and managers.
What you'll need to succeed
- At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer (preferably Azure) or suitable equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technology/ICT/cyber security discipline.
- Proven track record of successfully managing cloud environments and services, maximising availability, performance, and adherence to SLAs.
- ICT asset management, Network administration.
- Suitable Infrastructure/Network certifications.
- Suitable cloud platform certifications, such as Azure, AWS, Google, IBM etc.
- ITIL certification.
- Desired: ITSM certification.
- Local government ICT experience preferred, but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Initial contract until 6th September + potential to extend.
- $65 - $75 + Super or $72.15 - $83.25 + GST
