System Engineer ICT Service Delivery

Sibanye Stillwater Australia, a subsidiary of Sibanye Stillwater Limited (a multinational mining and metals processing group), is a leading mining, tailings management, and economic rehabilitation company. Our flagship Century project in Queensland (formerly New century resources) stands as Australia's largest tailings remining and processing operation. 

A rewarding opportunity currently exists for aSystem Engineer ICT Service Delivery to join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team. 

This position will be offered as a 15/13-day shift working roster (FIFO), located at our Century Mine (Lawn Hill).

Key accountabilities include:

• Monitor network performance and work with Group ICT to keep the networks running efficiently
• Establishes and maintains network performance.
• Track and report KPIs
• Builds net configurations and connections.
• Administer and configure various devices and services [website] routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, WiFi)
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshoots network problems.
• Provide technical support and assistance to employees.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Establishing and maintaining ICT and digital communication infrastructure, including wireless or LAN networks
• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation.
• Defines, documents, and enforces system standards and policies.
• Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
• Updates data servers and network equipment, maintenance of future mobile data centers at the 3 sites, also responsible for coordination and communication with the VisionNet data centre located in Billings.
• Collaborates with Group network specialists on network optimization at EB, Nye and the Met Complex.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
• Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Support and monitor daily backup of critical data in the ICT environment and ensure that all systems have a reliable backup to be used to restore either systems or data
• To be able to Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain and administer the virtual and physical server
• Effective liaison with Service Providers to ensure an efficient ICT service delivery
• Research alternative technological solutions to provide effective ICT systems to support business systems
• The corrective patch levels of the equipment are maintained
• The corrected firmware levels of the equipment are applied
• Ensure 24/7 uptime of the ICT datacentre and server infrastructure
• Disaster plans are tested to ensure that systems are fully recoverable
• Liaise with business units to understand current and future requirements
• Operating system software versions are maintained to current compliant and supported levels
• System performance levels are monitored continuously to deliver (file, print and application delivery)
• Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality, reliability and reduce costs.
• Ensure that all work done complies to our SOX and Internal Audit controls.
• Ensure proper security and compliance guidelines are followed.
• Day to Day management of incidents logged within the approved SLA.

Ideally, applicants will possess the following technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

• Bachelor's  degree  in  computer  science,  computer  engineering, MIS,  IT  or  a  related  field,  5+  years  of experience administering and supporting IT Network/Server infrastructure OR
• Associate's degree or IT Certificate and five (5) years of related IT experience, OR
• High School diploma and six (6) years of experience
• Additional  certifications  or  licensure  appropriate  to  the  job  may  be  required,  depending  upon  the department/site
• Experience in the mining industry is advantages
• Experience with service delivery/help desk, project management is advantages
• Previous supervisory experience desirable but not required
