About the program

AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

About the opportunity

As the System Integration Technical Lead, you will contribute significantly to the successful execution of AIR6500 Integration program by working with the broader AIR6500 team to perform system level integration activities for the AIR6500 solution, including but not limited to defect identification and analysis, conducting informal and formal Integration testing, and development of test automation where applicable.

Additional responsibilities will include;

  • Lead the agile development of complex technical solutions proposed by yourself and team Subject Matter Experts, including the design and development of test automation and support software
  • Identify & perform root cause analysis on defects at all levels of the System of Systems
  • Support the development of junior engineering staff
  • Set-to-work, support, maintenance & monitoring of the Integration Environments.
  • Implement and maintain configuration management of the Integration Environment (including hardware, software, scripts, automated test artefacts, IAC artefacts, etc)
  • Support Physical Configuration Audits of the Integration Environments when required
  • Implement, execute and maintain the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using processes and tools
  • Analyse, design and implement System Integration Thread Tests, automating where possible, in accordance with System Thread design artefacts

About you

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate superior knowledge of Defence Test & Evaluation, Technical Leadership, and significant experience leading successful outcomes in a large delivery team, along with;

  • Significant experience in the set-to-work and maintenance of an Integration and/or Production Environment, including ICT, hardware, software, scripts, automated test artefacts, IAC artefacts, etc
  • Linux System Administration, ICT Network Management, scripting etc, including relevant industry certifications
  • Significant experience at Integration & Test of software, components, subsystems and systems
  • Substantial experience using automated testing methodologies and associated tools (including model based)

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
