Your new role
The System Security Advisor will work within the Integrated Air and Missile Defence Series program. The program consists of Project Joint Battle Management System, Medium Range Ground Based Air Defence, Advanced and High Speed Missile Defence and Theatre Air Control System (TACS). The System Security Advisor will work within the Series Chief Engineer team reporting to the System-of-Systems Certification and Security Manager and will be required to liaise and engage with other functions within the broader program and Industry partners.
The System Security Advisor will provide assurance that the Materiel Systems being acquired by the Series Projects are designed, developed and maintained in accordance with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), the Australian Communications Security Instructions (ACSI) suite of publications and other relevant Defence security instructions.
- Providing assurance that appropriate security measures and controls are identified and implemented for the delivery of AIR6500 Series Materiel Systems to ensure risks to the confidentiality, integrity or availability of those systems and their information is managed as per Australian Government and Defence security requirements;
- Identifying threats and vulnerabilities arising from the design of the Materiel Systems and ensuring that those are appropriately managed and mitigated as per the applicable Security Risk Management Plans;
- Advising AIR6500 Series Project Engineering Managers or their delegates on development of System Security system, certification and accreditation requirements;
- Provide assurance that Industry-led activities and Industry industry provided artefacts adequately consider security requirements, taking a principles-based, flexible, adaptive and defendable approach;
- Lead assigned and participate in working groups, technical reviews and workshops as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- NV2 security clearance with ability to upgrade to PV;
- Direct exposure to information security;
- Technical knowledge of Defence Security system, certification and accreditation requirements;
- Experience working with the Australian Signals Directorate, Chief Information Officer Group or Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group;
- The position must be able to access ITAR/US Export Technology Control, and as such cannot be from, have strong ties to, or be a dual citizen of a prescribed/prohibited tier 1 or tier 2 country.
- Candidate must be Canberra based
- Experience working with DevSecOps and Agile delivery methodologies would be highly regarded.
