With operations on four continents, we are honoured to be named the mining industry leader by the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the past five years and the only one listed in the S&P 500 index.The OpportunityThis crucial role leads the team responsible for the management of the Project Commercial Function for Tanami Expansion Capital Project including contracts management, procurement, material management, asset management, logistics and business readiness for all assigned Tanami Expansion project requirements.Key Accountabilities include:
- Responsible for the planning and execution of commercial activities for Tanami Expansion capital project within Newmont's Australian region.
- Responsible for the full life cycle of project commercial activities including requirement planning, tendering, selection, contract negotiation and award, administration and closure for construction, capital equipment procurement, fabrication, capital material management and logistics, and project consultants.
- Responsible for management and oversight of Newmont's project commercial activities, EPC/M contractor's contracting and procurement activities and other third party contractors and vendors in support of Newmont's Scope.
- In conjunction with Functional stakeholders, identify and manage the risks associated with project commercial activities including health and safety, security, environmental, community relations and quality.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in construction/engineering contracting/contracts management including tendering, selection, negotiation and award of major contracts.
- In depth experience in project commercial management including construction contracting, equipment procurement, material/inventory control and logistics for major development projects.
- Experience and a high level of understanding of Engineering & Construction (E&C) and Prime Contracting industry practices in conducting formal tenders including the development of tender packages, contract preparation and purchase order preparation, contract negotiations and award, and contract administration.
