About the role
As an experienced HR licensed Tanker driver, you will operate out of our Broken Hill branch reporting to Mildura VIC Elgas depot. You will be responsible for safe delivery of LPG to both domestic and commercial sites. At times you may also be called upon to support the wider driver network during times of increased workload and leave periods.
In-depth training and support will be provided to help prepare and inform you of the requirements surrounding your roles and responsibilities; safety, standards, policies and procedures to name a few.
Your duties will include:
Operate and maintain our LPG distribution tanker within compliance standards, regulations & Elgas policy
Complete vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are fit for service, clean & presentable
Ensure vehicle and safety equipment documentation is up to date at all times
Report all incidents to the Transport Supervisor
Active co-operation & adherence to dispatch/schedules and timely delivery of paperwork
Reporting site compliance issues and conduct gas checks where required
Internal and external liaison with customers in a professional manner
Safety awareness and execution according to all regulations associated with the position.
Flexibility, Preparedness and responsive to service demand
Cooperation with branch staff in servicing customers, completion of work, flexibility of responding to demand, preparedness to work overtime and, contributing to a positive workplace environment
Be safety conscious and abide by all regulations associated with the position
What we like about you:
Heavy Rigid (HR) Vehicle licence with clear driving history
DG licence – advantageous
Previous experience working within a depot - advantageous
General Maintenance experience
Excellent communication skills
Handheld computer usage or willing to learn
Ability to work overtime on occasion
