Job description

  • Full Time | Maximum term until 31 December 2024
  • Increase fortnight take-home pay with access to $15,900 salary packaging benefits!
  • 10% gap discount for childcare services with Uniting Early Learning

About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Key Worker to join our High Risk and Targeted Care Packages (TCP) team based at Dandenong on a permanent full time basis.

TCPs are an allocation of funding attached to a specific child or young person which are used to prevent the child or young people from entering residential care, or transition from residential care into an alternate living arrangement that better meets their needs.

As a Key Worker you will provide individualised and flexible case management support to children and young people who present with challenging behaviours and are supported by a TCP. The role will support children, young people and their carers across a range of individualised placement options including foster care, kinship care, lead tenant, independent living or within the family home.

What’s on offer

Join an organisation where we don’t just provide a service. We use our connections, our size, our scale, and our knowledge to push into places where we feel like we should be doing more.

In addition to receiving a salary equivalent to SCHADS Level 5 and superannuation, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

Receive 10% discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee when using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Certificate IV or equivalent qualification in Community Services. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline would be highly regarded.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated case management experience within the child, youth and family welfare sector
  • An understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Best Interests Framework
  • Ability to work flexibly and innovatively to meet the needs of children, young people and their carers
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain comprehensive case notes, client files and reports in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
